Next step after deciding concept is put together a time line to plan out the project. Of course I went straight to research! Decided concept on Wed (9/23), pitched in class on Thurs (9/24), and Fri, Sat and Sun I was looking at anything on cut paper animation on the web, watched Masters of Animation, read sections of Kit Laybourne's, The Animation Book and cracked open the Walt Stanfield books that I got earlier this year "Drawn to Life". Also listening to music to get ideas for soundtrack. Feeding my brain with possibilities is one of my favorite parts of the process. Time to get out of that! Mon & Tues (9/28-29) spent in my head thinking about possibilities. Wed. 9/30 created blog to document the process and today I will complete my production time line and start sketching concepts. Have been distracted by Ken Burn's "National Parks" series this week. Will try to do some sketching while watching it tonight.
My goal this term is to spend at least an hour a day in my sketchbook. This is more for me and my confidence in owning an "artist" title. I have spent most of my life excelling in various careers and dabbling in creative endeavors on the side. This journey has been the second most difficult thing for me to pursue yet may be the most rewarding when I find my voice.
